Oracle® Software

Wayne State University currently distributes these licensed products, which include the following:

  • Oracle 9i Database & Client Release 2
    • Win 98/NT/2000/XP
    • Linux Intel
    • AIX-Based 4.3.3 Systems
    • Sun SPARC
  • Oracle 9i Application Server Release 2
    • Sun SPARC
  • Personal Oracle 8i Release 3
    • Win NT/2000

Oracle License Distribution and Use

Use of Oracle software is permitted only:

  • By Wayne State University faculty, staff and students. Students may only use Oracle 8i Personal Edition.
  • On Wayne State University premises
  • At home for course work, research or other work directly related to Wayne State University

When an employee or student leaves Wayne State University, they are no longer entitled to use Oracle. The software must be removed from the employee's/student's computer and destroyed or returned to the Software Clearinghouse.

Products and Pricing

Current licensed products offered are:

  • Oracle 9i Database
  • Oracle 9i Application Server
  • Oracle 8i Personal Edition for students

The licenses for Oracle are free to Wayne State University faculty, staff and students.

The media cost is $5.00 per CD-ROM.

Ordering

To order Oracle software:

1. Call Rob Thompson at 577-5645 with your request for software. At least two days notice is required for processing CDs.

2. Complete and Sign an End-User Agreement:

3. Send payment (IRB or personal check made payable to "Wayne State University") and completed End-User Agreement to:

4. After payment and End-User Agreement is received, the Software Clearinghouse will mail your software by Campus Mail.

If you would prefer to pick up your software, please call the Software Clearinghouse at 577-4060 to make arrangements.
